Samantha McCubbin is a contemporary Scottish artist based in Glasgow, known for her vibrant, expressive paintings inspired by the beauty and energy of the natural world. Working in oils, she creates richly layered works that explore colour, texture, movement and the spontaneous nature of the painting process.
Her signature abstract floral paintings are not intended as literal representations of flowers, but as an exploration of their energy, rhythm and colour. Samantha builds her paintings through layers of gestural brushwork, bold colour and expressive mark-making, allowing each layer to influence the next. She embraces the unexpected within the process, often allowing ‘happy accidents’ to become an integral part of the finished work.
Working from her Glasgow studio, Samantha has established an international collector base, with her work sold to collectors worldwide.
